Beat of a Heart
by angelsmiles
The wind brushes her cheek,
Her legs can't move for she is weak.
She watches as a tear falls,
It rolls up as her brother's toy ball.

They would play as children,
How they played though- wasn't as normal kin.
She thought that 'not to tell' was right,
But when she started to fight,
He raised his hand,
As if it was a demand.

But no more of that.
As the tear falls... it splats.
My first step to recovery is my last.
To heaven is where my eyes were cast.
With my last beat of a heart, I forgive
I forgive him, for the life he made me live.
