The Love of a Lifetime
by LynnMBanks
Never again in my life
Will I love someone
As deeply as I love you

Your name is on my heart
Your voice is in my soul

When I look into your eyes
I see my whole self living there

My heartaches with feelings
So many I have never known

I cry for misfortune
I try to forget

I swallow the pain
That hasn't gone away

Over not being the one
You want or love

How could anyone feel the same as I?
To hold on for no reason

To love one that doesn't care
To hold someone who isn't there

It's still the same
Not any change

How ever long will it remain?
Only the rest of my life
I fear.
