I'll Be
by   Danna

Life is not a destination but a journey
And a long distance to travel alone.
Yet so many times in the rain,
We all have our doubts and worries,
But yours happen to be greater than most.

When the fears grow with the howling wind
And the waves toss you about like a toy,
I'll be your sunshine to calm the storm
And I'll take you under my wings to keep you safe.
When the coldness sets in around you,
I'll be the fire to keep you warm.

It scares me so much that you don't see
The wonderful person you've come to be.
Just stay here by my side and I will not let you down.
I want to protect you because my love is strong.
When the flames trap you inside yourself
And you lose sight of who you are,
Come to me and I'll help you see
The wonderful person you've come to be.

When the blacks and grays color your scene,
Let me be the paint to color it bright.
Let me surround you like a cloud
Whenever the pain begins to set in.
I am with you, guiding you through.
I'll be the path your feet are on,
I will not ever let you stray.

When you need nothing
Other than true friendship and love,
Turn to me because I want to be.
