When You Are Not Here
by Hilary D Ray

Oh, my Sweetums, how I miss you
 when you are not here!
I constantly check the phone
hoping to get a call from you, my dear,
I feel so lonely, so empty,
 so absolutely sad
And the house feels so void,
with the silence driving me mad
Little thoughts of you pop into my mind
 during everything I do
I'll remember a certain look, gentle touch,
 or fiery kiss from you
Then I feverently wish that you were here
to hold me in your arms
But I must fall asleep alone tonight
without you to keep me warm
I shall dream sweet dreams of you
 returning home to me
And hope that this will satisfy
until your sweet face I see
