Feelings of love and a broken heart are nearly the same,

I have learned this the hard way, I must admit.
Had I been stronger, I may have avoided it.

I know you stated that passing notes could create a mess.
To prevent that from occurring, I shall give it my best.

I don't expect a verbal response to the poems I write.
Just know that I'll love you for the rest of my life.

You said you believed in the power of prayer.
I'm with you, although physically, I'm not there.
Prayer is such great therapy, a perfect method of care.
It's so much a comfort to know that God is always there.

If these words I write upset you or make you distressed,
I'll cease sending them; that would be best.
But if tolerating these lines is something you can do,
I'll continue to write them only for you.

Please believe,
Although I am smitten and under your spell,
I'd never do anything to change the life you are living so well.
I hope you can take comfort in this fact.
