A Mother's Love
by Tricia  B.

I can't imagine your pain
your heart can't be the same
your loss is the worst any mother could bear
now on your collar an angel you wear.

Years ago you gave him life
you walked him through, you guided him right
you gave your strength, and your tears
his life was cut short, only 22 years.

Now you're left to carry on
and to your girls you're really drawn
they need you now, more than they know
to help them cope, for this pain will grow.

A mother's love will never end
and sometimes we all have to pretend
that we are stronger than the rest
we hide our feelings and do our best.

His face, his smell, and most of all his smile
won't ever be forgotten for longer than awhile
although you don't want to say it's so
God took his hand and you had to let go.

Now he's safe, he feels no pain
don't think your work was all in vain
he's your angel, he will always be
he's with God, his soul is free.
