Expectantly
by Angel Without Wings

Expectantly, I glance at the door
But you are not there
My heart breaks just that little more
I thought that once, maybe you really did care

You told me that you would always be there
And most of all, that you would always care
Were you just playing with my mind?
Or were you really that kind?

You made me so many promises
But for now I was too young
Yet I thought it was fate
Or maybe I was just born a little too late

What am I to do?
Did you ever care?
Or maybe it's just because I love you
That I expect you to be there
