A Night To Remember
by Sharon R. Shaw

I was alone; sitting there crying.
I looked up and saw you standing there.
My heart did skip a beat;
there stood the man of my dreams.

Shaking-not knowing what to say.
I looked deeply into your pale blue eyes;
you smiled then, and brushed my tears away.
Truly my knight in shining armor;

you put your arms around me,
and lifted me to a place
I had never been before.
You lifted me to love.

You and I stood there; indeed a magical moment.
Hand in hand- heart to heart,
waiting for lips to part.
Never have I felt such joy
standing so close to you.

Everything in me trembles.
A tingling of my senses.
Your hand cups the back of my head;
a rushing like waves rolling to shore.

Your lips, my lips connected.
Tenderly- passionately the love we made;
two souls joined together
in heart, body, and mind.

I knew then I would love you until the end of time.
Slowly I opened my eyes;
and when I reached for you, you were gone.
I cried for you; I even screamed,

but reailty sank in.
A shattering of my heart when I realized
you were just a dream.
