One Kiss
by Brenton Henry Miers
Oh, how I love thy lips!
Those supple, moist, fervent lips.
Why! Tell me why I hunger so,
A hunger to kiss, an urge to steal
That which is not mine to have.
If only you knew how my mind has vexed me so;
Illusions, constant dreams and erotic fantasy upon fantasies.
At times I could almost savour your sweetness,
Even sense the warmth of your lips pressed so lightly against mine.
I must be intoxicated with the mere concept of your kiss.
Just the deliciousness of it all haunts my every mood;
Must this constant yearning send me into a state of misery.
Save me! Grant me but one kiss.
Let the dampness of our lips mingle
Thus quenching my agonizing thirst.
Let me have that, which has tormented my very soul.
Free me from the imprisonment of desire,
And allow me to carry that memory for eternity.
I beg of thee; one kiss, a moment, a dream!
