Love
by Jesse Joseph Sutterlin

It is said that, "love is a many splendored thing."

It is also said that, "every rose, has its thorns."
It is the same with pure love from the heart.

It is so, because love can cut,
like the serrated edge of a knife...
Cutting to the very fiber of one's being.

But love can, as well, heal all wounds.
It can heal the worst heartache.
It can overcome all odds.
It can win in the face of failure.

And in that contradiction,
Love can be the ultimate joy
and also the ultimate torture.

In light of love, you must be cautious
And also, not be afraid to let it enrapture you.

It is true, "love is a many splendored thing"
