I have a friend that means so much to me,
he is there for me each and every day.
With smiles and frowns he's with me all the way.

He is my strength that helps me to move on,
and forget my worries and fears.
With encouraging words and many shedding tears.

At times he seems millions of miles away,
other times I can almost feel him next to me.
I don't think he knows what he means to me.

I tell him over and over what he means in my life,
I want him to know how much I need him near.
When I shed and unhappy tear.

Friends like him are made to keep,
to keep close for the rest of your life.
And I know I will not let him get out of reach.

Near or far I know he will be there,
cause that is what friends are for.
And I want him to know I care.
