Until there was you
by Robin Lee Petit

Living seemed good,
The warmth of the sun filled any empty void,
The sound of the ocean's sparkling against the rocks sounded soothing,
The way the trees rustled in the midst of the summer breezes comforted,
The silkiness of the sand massaging my toes
As I walked the length of the shore
Calmed my anxieties.
Until there was you,
Your humor warmed every corner of my heart,
Your conversation enriched my knowledge of life,
Your arms wrapped around me securely ended any insecurity,
Until there was you,
I never realized how empty I was
Walking along that shore of life without you.
