That Day
by Melinda Gale Hipp

Even though I don't have him here to hold,
In my arms the truth unfolds.
And in his eyes, I'll see my face
So deep in a stare and lost in space.

I thought our love would last forever,
And in my heart we'll always be together
But I've fallen from space...
to confront death face to face.

I still remember the day
God took you away.
That day seemed endless...
my heart was weak and defensless.

My mind was blank and all was silent.
I wish your death were fake and not so violent.
