The Good-bye Poem
by Rebecca Cern
She sits on the bed
and releases a sigh.
He is breaking her heart
so she must say good-bye...
She knows that he cares -
but she can't get too near.
She feels so frustrated;
down her cheek, rolls a tear...
She desires his love,
She craves to feel his caress.
She needs her feelings to be mirrored
Without pressure or stress...
Is she asking for too much?
Are her expectations too great?
She's not content with his offerings -
She's too intense and passionate...
She thinks he'll miss her when she's gone.
From each other they have learned,
It just hurts her too much,
to not have her love returned...
She stands up to leave,
She knows he won't ask her to stay.
He's rejected her devotion -
Not ready to give his heart away...
To my dearest Rusty,
Wish it could have worked out...
I will always have a place in my heart for you.
Love Fonzi...
