My Friend, Forever
by Nicole K. Tallman

You, my friend, you're standing here,
Next to me without a fear.
Standing so calm and not knowing how,
Wondering what it will be like ten years from now.

Will we still be friends, or will we not?
Will I find the love of my life, and you will be forgot?
We say we will be friends forever,
And that we will always be together.

But as the days go on, we will make new friends,
Still thinking we'll be friends till the end.
We grow up, get a job, get married, and have kids,
Still thinking we will always be friends.

You, my friend, you're still standing here,
Next to me without a fear.
No matter what happens, you will always be my friend,
Either in sight, or thought,
But always in my heart.
