query
by David  Fronius

conversing with the moon one night
i asked of and about you
"more elusive is she than i" said he
"unheard is her heart, yet it sings
and the voice, soft as a breeze
surely you cannot catch her"
and he left
shaking the trees in passing

conversing with the sun one day
i asked of and about you
"more brilliant is she than i" said he
"unseen is her soul
yet happiness abounds there
and her smile chases away clouds
surely you cannot win her"
and he left
raising the temperature in passing

conversing with the sea one afternoon
i asked of and about you
"more fluid is she than i" said she
"unquenched is her love, it surpasses all
surely you cannot satiate her"
and she left
throwing the waves that were her hair about wildly

conversing with an angel in a dream
i asked of and about you
"more in love with you is she than anyone" she said
"it is seen in her eyes, sung in her heart, felt in her soul
all you could ever ask for is there for the taking
surely you must have seen it, heard it, felt it?
the sun, moon and sea have always wanted her...
all she ever wanted was you"
and she left
placing me in my love's arms...
