Only Time
by Ella  Kay

I wanted not your gifts of gold,
Your money spent or stories told.
I wanted time.

A moment
Time to say- I matter.
To say- I'm in your heart and mind.
It costs little to bring a smile to my face,
or warmth to my heart.

I dream of...

"Hello my dear, how are you?
Did you see the dawn this day?
I sat and shared it with you
Even though you are away.
It wrapped me in its pinkness and filled me with its light.
It made me wish this day were done
and we could share the night!"

I sigh...
This is the gift I wanted.
Your time to fill a moment,
I wanted a moment of... You.

Time costs nothing.
