star crossed
by David  Fronius

Borne on a comet
she rides the heavens
as if hers alone.
A fiery trailing tail
composed of her flowing hair,
showing where she has been
but for a moment
as not to let you trace her steps.
Here and gone in an instant
to distant places she has roamed,
hoping to find
a supposed end to her wandering,
to find a heart she could call home.
Long ago, by chance, i saw her-
a glimpse of all the possibilities
in the infancy of our lives
but timing was not right then
and paths not of our making.
At this very moment, though,
our alignment makes our crossing imminent
and i await her appearance
to continue the journey together...
