Vanish
by Joseph Paul Pecillo

How do I express true past experience?
Have I been left stranded innocence with shadows
Having them drift away, incomplete?

Shall I walk the streets alone
Never to shed a tear again?
All I desire is a final waltz,
To have a soul, so light as to rise above blossoms
And to have leaves descend, heavy with passion.

To stroke a soul and heart unscathed and pure
As an infant's cry enduring its mother's own eyes,
This is sheer ecstasy in flight.
Beholding the tremble of the waves, the passion...,
Is to see straight through another soul,
And... to Vanish.
