Mother
by Barbara E. Rambo
Away in my sound proof dimension
I scream, to let my voice be heard
All those around me pay no attention
They tell me I'm crazy and my dreams- absurd
I look at you and you look at me
I pray I'm all you hoped I'd be
And then you drift away from me
Until, no longer your face I see
I scream your name and you reappear
You tell me that your always near
Though I can't see you with my eyes
I'll see you with my heart, if I try
So, don't be sad when you think of me
I'm right here where I ought to be
In your heart, where you can see
The love that is shared between you and me
