Lovesong
by Robert Louis Arehart

Do you hear a lovesong
in every faded flower
and do you pause
in peace, reposed,
beneath some shady bower?

Can you find a picture
up in a fleecy cloud
and speak the words
your love will say
before they're heard aloud?

Do you feel
with all your heart
and every sense you have
the exultation, bliss and joy
along a dappled path?

Can you sit on a bankside
along a drifting stream
with drooping willows overhead
and still not chance to dream?

Do you hear the lovesong
of late spring's lovely day
and hold it tight
and cherish it
to light life's passing way!
