Love Sandwich
by Jennifer Lynn Murphy

To make a love sandwich:
First you need bread
the kind with the romantic things you said.
Then add a sprinkle of gladness.
But, pick out the sadness
it leaves a sour aftertaste.

Put it in a bowl
with Trust and Respect
and mix it into a fine paste.
Spread evenly
along one romantic slice,
Things should start to look quite nice.
Now add a whole bunch of hugs and kisses.
The kind that include extra wishes.

Season with a cup of togetherness,
try hard not to make a mess.
Combine Friendship, Companionship,
and get a relationship.
Place it all on the bread
make sure it's evenly spread.

Now take a great big bite.
You say it doesn't taste just right?
What do you do?
I'll give you a clue: The missing ingredient,
the best part... is you!
