To whom it may concern
by Linda  Santiago

Deep inside of me
buried somewhere deep within my heart

Were so many unsolved problems,
I didn't know where to start

Issues of abandonment
needed to be addressed

That could be the reason...
when I love, I become obsessed

The love my father never showed me
the attention I wish I'd come to know

Made me come to understand
why I have a such a hard time in letting go

My lack of self confidence
cause by kids laughing, of how I dressed

I became self conscious,
And felt I could never be the best

The emotional abuse I had to deal with
by the man I chose to marry

It never was discussed
It was to painful and scarry

But the hardest feeling of all
was to love and be used

Although the love I gave wasn't perfect..
they all seemed to be amused

They all laughed at me when it was over
how could I have been so blind

I listened carefully to my heart
I should have read between the lines

I tell myself It's ok
I say I have no regrets

But there is something you should know
I forgive, but don't forget
