Too Late
by Tracey Lynn Rose

So, now, with tears and regret -on your knees- you choose to stand;
 As my broken, bleeding heart lies dripping from your hand.

As my empty eyes beseech you, to give before I break;
 As my barren soul reaches out to find, there's nothing left to take.

As the cold wind passes from my frozen lips and blows ashes into dust;
 As my ears echo with anguished cries of trampled love and trust.

As my weary mind goes to reeling, and my world begins to crumble;
 As my body starts to sway and my words begin to fumble.

As my ideals, and all my emotions - grieve, muddled in my hate;
 You kneel before me, asking now...
                  If it is too late.
