Five Elements of Knowing You
by Chris  Hughes

leaves await the wind
to give breath to
their rustling voice
and whisper your name
stars wheel and dance
in heavenly court
offering borrowed charm
with light stolen
from your eyes
flowing wine seduces
with your intoxicating embrace
it's sultry taste and color
finding form upon your lips
honeysuckle on the wind
is the memory of your passage
the cleansing summer rain
fallen from your skin
the brilliant warmth
of the afternoon sun
ablaze within my racing heart
when I take your hand
