When Tomorrow Comes
by   BluSkies4Shy

I won't wake when morning comes-
Daylight may take you from me
Don't wake me from this dream-
Let me lie down; let me sleep
Let me feel your arms holding me...

When tomorrow comes-
I'll pull the shades so time can't see
I'll break the clock that's next to me
I'll lock the door and lose the key
I'll break the mirrors so I won't see
...That you're not here lying next to me

If tomorrow never comes-
Then I won't have to see
In this bed I sleep alone-
There's no one next to me

I'll lie to myself
Pretend I didn't hear
The fading whispers of your footsteps
I'll stop time to keep you near...

If tomorrow never comes-
My regrets will be but few
If tomorrow's sun comes shining
Then tonight, forever
Is the time I'll have with you

So, don't wake me from this dream
Let me lie down; let me sleep
Let this night be mine to keep

If tomorrow never comes-
Then you won't have to leave
Loneliness will have to wait
If you stay right here with me

I won't have to feel the cold
That darkness often brings
I won't have to feel the tears
That always seem to sting

If tomorrow never comes-
And morning never breaks-
Then I won't see you leave
My bed when I wake

If tomorrow never comes-
My eyes won't have to see
That tomorrow came a long time ago
And tonight
It's only the loneliness of yesterday
                  That sleeps with me.
