My Mistake
by Jeff C Jones
Sinful attrition rips at my soul
You, my whole, my beloved disease,
Thinking of your heart that I stole
Standing in the winter's cool breeze...
Sullen and bleak as the sun sets again
On this lonely defective night
I must once again ask, "When
Will there be an end to the blight...?"
Harmful decisions have brought me to despair
As my mistakes bring haunting visions.
As you shed a tear, please say a prayer
To finally end all our indecision...
I once again walk this desolate trail
With your image burning a hole in my mind;
Telling myself yet another tale
Of our love, so seemingly blind...
Now I ask for but another chance,
I don't just ask, but beg and crawl,
To end this horrid circumstance
I?m the cheat... but you are my all!
