Colours of Love
by Avery Robertson
Seems so long ago now,
that I bordered on losing hope.
Life closed all around me,
down hearted spirit, so hard to cope.
Deep was my suffering,
alone and broken by sorrow,
I lived in the moment
never thought of tomorrow.
Then there was you, my beloved;
how your soul moved within me,
shining green in the newness of life.
Hope, blue as the vast sea.
Courage burned red like crimson,
honor, pure like new falling snow;
Conviction, shimmering like silver,
compassion, a bright golden glow.
Time after time,
your love pulled us through;
consciousness of myself rose vividly
within the colours of you !
