Inside This Peaceful Heart
by Pamela A Walsh
Peace wells inside me like a soft embrace
Soothing the pain of knowing
That the path on which we walk
May never find its end in loving grace
It seems this pain that has gone away
Has taken with it some of my love
And replaced it with a conviction of hope
That I need to survive and continue the game
When the heart needs a shield from its loving grace
Laid open and bare to the fate it seeks
The mind can build a fortress tall
To calm the heart from beating too strong
Heart, do not be saddened by this calming force
For to beat too fast will cause you to break
You must rest and become strong
To be ready when love comes again
