My Mother's Love [ Canela Lempesis]
by Demetrius Peter Pace

She was the steady hand
That led me on my way
She was the person
That knew just what to say

No matter how tough times got
Or what was in the way
She managed to brush them off
And go about her day

She didn't use excuses
That was not her style
Integrity and grace
Were with her all the while

She confronted things head on
And told it like it was
She considered other's feelings
With everything she does

She was a special person
In every sort of way
My heart has lost a portion
And is heavier today.
