her death
by anne leslie kamerman
They all said they loved her, and would be there for her
But did they? Were they?
No, they weren?t,
No, they didn?t
He said he loved her
He said he?d always be there for her- no matter what
He told her, ?I love you,? over and over again
He also said, ?I?ll never let you down.?
But did he? Was he always there for her?
He let her down
He wasn?t always there for her
And now as they stand over her coffin, as he stands over her coffin
They all have many regrets now, and so does he
They wish they could take back what they had done to her
He wishes he had the chance to tell her one more last time,
?I love you," before she left
He says, ?I love you,? to her dead body in the coffin
And he walks away shedding tears down his face
Never again will he see her smile, or hear her laugh
Never again will they tease her or taunt her- or ignore her
And never again will they/he see her or hear her...
