Evermore
by Frances Marie Brown

In destiny's wake I stand wondering
Of my life transcending into this world
Who have I left behind?
My betrayal I carryover into now and evermore
Has love lost its way or followed my soul?

As my insincerities seem to carryover as well
As the love for a man of honor with no name
My prince, my love of evermore
For whom I cannot embrace at this time
Left to sweep through halls

Enchanted candlelit dinners alone
Lest I betray with strangers of whom I find myself
Enwrapped in embraces for my own selfish consolation
My last love is home with me in my soul
Yet, I am soulless in my own empathetic action

My heart cries out my love
Yet, I see thee no more and hear thee even less
Thy king?s honor is served in itself
Throughout eternity?s glare
No remorse for a loveless soul as mine

The betrayer in this life- betrayed
By self and thine neighbor
Lest ye not leave me shattered
In this bliss of nevermore
For one day my soul will too be found

Alongside the hand of god will evermore occur
And in that time I shall be at rest
As you take my hand
Eternally,
Evermore
