My Ickle Split Apart
by   Jenny Lamb

I loved you once-upon-a-time in heaven,
   then we had to part.
My mum got me and yours got you,
my life, my love... my ickle split apart.

The angels touch us only once,
least we know not our serious, grievous loss.
To ensure our hearts would never know
what our parting had truly cost.

Each of our souls have lived many lifetimes
   searching, each for the other.
Losing faith on more than one occasion,
all searching the endless sea of hearts
Neither to have found...
   our ickle split apart.

Oh and then the mirror of my soul suddenly appeared,
so accurately reflected in the another's gaze.
"OH GOD, why have u allowed us to wander in this daze?"
And oh how our souls both did marvel
at the exciting recognition of the other's heart.
We found our way together- Me and My,
   ICKLE SPLIT APART.
