Forever Mine
by Avery  Robertson

The long winding stream,
cold as the winter sky,
wound round my heart for you,
wind blew away the words "good-bye."

Piano cords pluck at my soul
like angels fingertips of light
that lead me in a circle back to
the life of you breaking into my night.

Lost and longing pushed me on
into that night and then the day,
showing me hope is not lost
not after I first heard you say,

"forever and always mine
you will shine
in this broken heart of mine."
