Cosmos
by Kenneth Ray Carmichael
You had me... even before our very first 'hellos.'
It was during that big bang far out in the cosmos;
Before any somber sun-ray struck the solid earth.
Our destinies were scribed in striking tone and verse.
Your eyes, flawlessly carved from Neptune?s moons.
Stars are dim in comparison to your smile in bloom.
As time bends, twirls and constricts- we quietly coexist.
Young constellations report our story as though myth.
True, as the Rain Clouds that hang just below the heavens,
What we were given is of its own kind held in reverence.
We submit meaning to one another like rhythm to rhyme
Like blazing blue comets, we're an exclusive rare find.
