False Intentions
by Brittany Lauren Bindrim

Why did I put up with you?
All the things you've denied.
But it doesn't take a genius
To figure out you lied.

I just kept on hoping for more,
As I watch you walk out the door.
But you only make me cry,
So I have to say goodbye.

I can tell by the way you act,
The rest is for the birds.
But I can tell you for a fact,
Your actions speak louder than your words.

When we are alone,
You are a completely different person.
In public you use a different tone,
And the situation only worsens.

I need to gather up my courage.
I know you'll only get discouraged,
But not for the reasons you should.
You can't love the way I could.

So goodbye,
I have to leave,
Looking for the love
I long to give and recieve.
