Rosepetals On The Ground
by SweetGirl
I got the news-2 days ago-
I can't believe it's true
Not the one who holds my heart-
I know it can't be you.

Just out of town for 3 more days-
And then you'd soon be back
And in my arms once again-
with loneliness to lack.

How could this happen, it's just not fair-
after all that we've been through
To suddenly end, so very fast-
and nothing we can do.

They reported in detail, about the car-
my heart does nothing but ache
Piece by piece, and beat by beat-
forever...it will break.

The service is being held today-
right now I'm on my way
Crying inside, trying to find-
the words that I must say.

I got your favorite (and also mine)-
red roses for your grave
To lay them down, will be so hard-
I really must be brave.

Before I leave, I will make sure-
that everyone will see
How much you loved a precious rose-
and always sent to me.

So with each little rose that I will lay-
a meaning will be found
My heart will stay, and forever will be...
Rosepetals on the ground.
